Andy's Donuts at 460 Castro was a donut shop and diner. In the early 1970's Eureka Valley (later called The Castro) was an Irish Catholic neighborhood dominated by The Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church around the corner at 18th and Diamond. So in sunday mornings, Andy's offered a special price on donuts in order to attract the after-church crowd. I don't think the handsome youth was on his way home from church!
