This picture comes from a poster that Scott Smith put together. The caption underneath read, "HE SORT OF SMIRKED AT ME , , , ", from Dan White's confession, describing the moment before he shot Harvey Milk.

This picture of Harvey in a clown suit came from a poster announcing Harvey's Birthday party on Castro Street, Tuesday evening, May 22nd, 1979. In the 1970's he operated the ISLAND, a restaurant on the corner of 16th and Sanchez which Harvey used for several campaign speeches.
