HARVEY IN THE LIMELIGHT © 1978 J. Pritikin

Here's one of Harvey on the way to city hall to be sworn in...It falls into my photoglyphic category. Harvey in the lime light...note the kids... Many years later, I was back in S.F. and I took a copy to give to the owner of the book store. I introduced myself and before I had a chance to show him the picture he stated how much he disliked Harvey. I never gave him the print. I have one more Black and White of Harvey being sworn in on the steps of City hall when it started to drizzle and a few umbrellas started to open and Harvey said, "Recently Anita Bryant blamed the drought in Northern California on the gays. Who's she going to blame for the rain?" Everyone is smiling and laughing and Mayor Moscone is in the background. He came through the city hall doors and spotted me on my perch and yelled "Hi Jer!". He sure knew how to make my day!

1978
was going to be a very good year.
It sure started out right.
Everything was coming up GAY!
Our community was on a roll.
We had just gotten a foot into City Hall.
Our time was coming!

In November it turned into a very bad year.
They took away our leader and everything changed.
What was next?

GAY RIOTS NOW!
